My Name is Seraphim Bryant. Worcester Children’s Author Kevin Brooke and I recently collaborated on an illustrated book entitled Max & Luchia: The Game Makers (published by Black Pear Press) in which our main character struggles with reading and writing. He is helped by characters including a Knight. The story is based on the power of young people’s imagination, and we have provided workshops that are based on the story to several local primary schools with the aim of encouraging independent writing and illustration.
Additionally, we can also offer workshops that are tailor-made to suit the school’s requirement. For example, we have recently carried out workshops on the theme of ‘Myths & Legends’, ‘Kings & Queens’ ‘My Inspiration’ and ‘ A Different Perspective’, all of which were aimed at 300 words Young Writer Competitions by Worcester Litfest&fringe.
We fully understand the issue of funding in schools (Kevin’s wife is a teacher), And this is why we offer the first session free of charge. As recent creative writing graduates, we also enjoy being given the opportunity to do the workshops and support children’s
